Resilience in art is the ability to adapt, repair, and reimagine—especially when materials, ideas, or emotions don’t go as planned. Just like in nature, where trees bend with the wind and moss grows through cracks, our creative process thrives when we can recover from setbacks and turn challenges into layers of meaning.
Resilience helps artists persist through uncertainty, creative blocks, and imperfect results. It encourages play, experimentation, and discovery rather than perfection. In collage, resilience becomes visible through how we mend, overlap, and reassemble—turning damage into design and vulnerability into beauty
